Report: Bas Dost nears Newcastle United move

Newcastle United are expected to sign Wolfsburg striker Bas Dost this week, according to reports.

The Dutch international enjoyed an impressive campaign for the Bundesliga side and found the net 16 times as he helped them finish second in the league.

However, The Mirror claims that the 26-year-old is close to a £9m move to St James' Park and will sign a four-year contract.

Dost was one of the hottest strikers in Europe after the winter break and scored 14 goals in nine games for his club.
