Newcastle United agree deal with Anderlecht for Chancel Mbemba

Newcastle United have all but completed a move for Anderlecht defender Chancel Mbemba, subject to a work permit hearing next week.

The 20-year-old, who travelled to Tyneside over the weekend, agreed personal terms with the Magpies and underwent his medical.

However, the club will have wait until at least Thursday for the FA to confirm whether Mbemba, a Democratic Republic of Congo international, will be granted a visa.

Mbemba began his career with the Belgian club in 2012.
