Newcastle United boss Steve McClaren not expecting more signings

Newcastle United boss Steve McClaren claims that the club's business in the transfer window is done.

Newcastle United boss Steve McClaren has revealed that he does not expect to sign any more players during the transfer window.

The Magpies made their fifth summer signing earlier this week by landing winger Floran Thauvin from Marseille for £12m.

Newcastle have now spent nearly £49m since the end of last season, but McClaren is not chasing any further additions for his squad.

"I'm very pleased with what we have got, very pleased," he is quoted as saying by The Chronicle. "I think that's it for now, but how many times have you heard, 'That's it for now' with 10 days of the window to go?

"We are not expecting, we are not chasing anything. We are not trying to make things happen. Usually with 10 days to go things might happen, but at the moment we are delighted with what we have got."

The Tynesiders are back in Premier League action tomorrow when they face Manchester United at Old Trafford.
