Dougie Freedman dismisses Emmanuel Riviere link

Nottingham Forest manager Dougie Freedman insists that there is "no truth" in reports suggesting he is interested in signing Newcastle United striker Emmanuel Riviere.

Dougie Freedman has dismissed reports that Emmanuel Riviere could be on his way to Nottingham Forest before the end of this summer's transfer window.

The French striker has scored just three goals since arriving at Newcastle United last summer, while new Magpies signing Aleksandar Mitrovic is expected to limit his first-team chances this season.

When asked about a potential move for the 25-year-old, the Forest manager told BBC Nottingham: "No. There is no truth in that at all."

Forest opened the new season with a 1-0 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion.
