Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has claimed that he needs another striker, but has revealed that he may not sign one in January.
With Emmanuel Riviere flattering to deceive in his maiden season in England and Papiss Cisse starting just five games through injury, the Magpies boss says that he desperately needs a goalscorer.
It has been another summer signing in Ayoze Perez who has caught the eye, with the Spaniard scoring four times from eight Premier League starts, but Pardew admits that he is still a bit short on forward quality.
"I said at the start of the year we were a striker light and we really needed someone to come through and help us out - and he [Perez] has done that," he told ESPN.
"I'm not talking about the transfer window, but we need another striker if we can get one."
United, who sit eighth in the table, have scored 18 goals this season - the fewest of all top-10 teams.
