Newcastle United 2-1 Braga

Newcastle United have beaten Braga 2-1 in their second pre-season friendly in two days.

The Magpies lifted the Trofeu International Guadiana in the Algarve thanks to goals from Demba Ba and Ryan Taylor.

After a quiet first half the Toon opened the scoring through one half of their Senegalese strike duo.

Ba initially missed a penalty but converted the rebound to give Newcastle the lead on 63 minutes.

Braga equalised just five minutes later with a goal from Ruben Amorim.

Ryan Taylor then produced a free kick of real quality to complete the scoring and hand Newcastle an impressive pre-season tournament victory.

Newcastle continue to build towards a tough Premier League opener against Tottenham Hotspur on August 18.
