Alan Pardew: 'Remy Cabella will improve Newcastle United'

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew says that new signing Remy Cabella will "improve" Newcastle United's squad next season following his move to the club.

Alan Pardew has insisted that new signing Remy Cabella can "improve" Newcastle United's attack next season.

The 24-year-old midfielder completed his move to St James' Park on Sunday night, becoming the Magpies' fourth summer signing alongside Siem de Jong, Jack Colback and Ayoze Perez.

Last season's top scorer Loic Remy has returned to parent club Queens Park Rangers following a spell on loan at Newcastle last season, while fellow marksman Yohan Cabaye sealed a move to Paris Saint-Germain in January.

"Remy is a player who has been on our radar for a while and we are delighted to bring him to the club," Pardew is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.

"He is a player who I am sure will excite our fans. He has flair, hard work and commitment, and is going to bring a talent, energy and quality to St James' Park that our supporters will enjoy.

"Remy has great ideas when the ball comes to him, and along with Siem de Jong is going to improve an area where we definitely needed some help."

Newcastle are next in action on Tuesday night when they face Oldham Athletic in a pre-season friendly at Boundary Park.
