Tim Krul: 'Disciplinary errors this early in the season are not acceptable'

Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul criticises the team's disciplinary errors following two sendings-off in four Premier League games.

Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul has slammed the team for picking up two red cards this early in the season.

The North-East outfit lost Daryl Janmaat in their 2-0 defeat to Swansea City during the second round of Premier League fixtures.

During last weekend's 1-0 defeat to Arsenal, Aleksandar Mitrovic was sent packing just 16 minutes into the match at St James' Park.

Steve McClaren's side have picked up just two points from their opening four games of the campaign.

"We know it's not acceptable and we have to learn quickly," Krul told BBC Newcastle. "It's hard enough with 11 players in the Premier League and to get two first-half sending-offs makes it hard for us.

"We have to look at the positives. We've got a great group and spirit, real quality and we just have to get the first win."

The Magpies will take on West Ham United away after the international break on Monday, September 14.
