Vurnon Anita 'disappointed' by Newcastle United's poor form

Anita 'disappointed' by Newcastle slump

Vurnon Anita has admitted that he and his teammates feel 'disappointed' by the club's current form in the Premier League.

Steve McClaren, who was appointed head coach in the summer, has guided the team to just two wins in 13 league games this season.

The North-East club, who will face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday, are just one point above the relegation zone.

"It is a team game," Anita told The Chronicle. "I try to do my best for the team and I think everybody does but it's just disappointing.

"We have to re-focus and continue because next week we have Crystal Palace and we have to go there to win the game."

Newcastle have conceded 25 goals in the top flight so far.
