New England beaten by 10-man Red Bulls

New York Red Bulls completed an impressive comeback to beat New England Revolution 2-1, despite having to play the second half with 10 men.

The visitors were ahead on 20 minutes when Teal Bunbury found Charlie Davies and the forward calmly slotted past Luis Robles.

New England appeared to have full control of the game when the hosts had Matt Miazga sent off for a poor challenge on Lee Nguyen.

However, the Red Bulls were back on level terms within two minutes of the restart when Dax McCarty gently lifted the ball over Bobby Shuttleworth in the Revolution goal.

Just after the hour mark, the turnaround was complete when Bradley Wright-Phillips linked up with Lloyd Sam, before the ex-Charlton Athletic man found the back of the net.

New York nearly added to their lead later in the half after Peguy Luyindula struck the frame of the goal, and the hosts held on for the points.
