Motherwell manager Ian Baraclough insists he has 'nothing but backing'

Motherwell manager Ian Baraclough insists that he has total support at the club, despite the threat of a relegation fight, with the team currently bottom of the Premiership.

Motherwell manager Ian Baraclough has insisted that he has nothing but support at the club, despite the threat of a relegation fight.

Well are bottom of the Scottish Premiership with 18 points from 26 games, but Baraclough has said that he trusts his players to get them out of their position, including forward Scott McDonald.

He told BBC Radio Scotland: "Scott McDonald has come in and shown energy and desire to work very hard, with a group of players he knows can get us out of the position we're in.

"We need to believe as a group that we can go and earn the right to create chances and go on and take them. We need to be more proactive in going and creating chances. On any given day it's 11 v 11 and you've got to work really hard to make things happen, if we do that we can go on and win the game.

"Since day one I've had nothing but backing and that's appreciated. We're trying to change things for the long term but we need to make sure we're in this league for next season."

Motherwell host third-placed Inverness Caledonian Thistle this afternoon.
