Liverpool join Olivier Giroud chase

Liverpool have reportedly joined the chase to sign Montpellier striker Olivier Giroud.

The 25-year-old has scored 20 goals for the Ligue 1 leaders this season.

Reds manager Kenny Dalglish was joined by assistant Steve Clarke to watch Giroud in Friday's 1-0 win at Toulouse, according to the Daily Mail.

However, the French international missed a penalty for Montpellier during the match.

Arsenal and Bayern Munich were also thought to have had scouts in the crowd to watch Giroud.
