Rene Girard: "My lads didn't lack drive"

Montpellier HSC boss Rene Girard has said that his team's 1-1 draw away at Dijon was one point gained rather than lost.

A late equaliser from Jonathan Tinhan rescued a point for the visitors after Gael Kakuta had put Dijon ahead after 67 minutes.

Girard praised his players' attitude and said that no-one was disappointed in the dressing room.

"Given the shape of the match as a whole, it's a point won as far as we're concerned," said the 57-year-old.

"My lads didn't lack in drive, and we equalised late on; that proves that my team never give up, that they're confident.

"We started shakily and had a tough time playing our game in the first half. But we're remaining calm and no-one was too upset by this result."

The result means that La Pallaide drop to second in Ligue 1.
