Claudio Ranieri likens Paris Saint-Germain players to 'extra-terrestrials'

Monaco manager Claudio Ranieri warns Paris Saint-Germain that his team will take advantage if they slip up.

Monaco manager Claudio Ranieri compared Paris Saint-Germain's players to "extra-terrestrials" following his side's 1-1 draw with the French champions on Sunday.

The Italian admitted that the league leaders are an exceptional team, but warned them that many of his players are new to Ligue 1 and have lofty ambitions for the future.

"I said they were extra-terrestrials because mentally PSG are a great team. We're building something here and I've got a lot of players who are in their first Ligue 1 season," he told reporters.

"I'm satisfied with my players and we played well against extra-terrestrials. We're ambitious but this is our first year together.

"We need to stay calm and keep playing for second place. If PSG lose games and lose the title then we'll be there."

The result leaves PSG five points ahead of second-placed Monaco in the table.
