Blackburn come back to beat Millwall, ease relegation fears

Blackburn Rovers' second-half comeback against Millwall moves them five points clear of the Championship drop zone.

Blackburn Rovers have moved five points clear of the Championship drop zone because of a second-half comeback at Millwall this evening.

Karleigh Osborne opened the scoring for the hosts in the 14th minute by smashing a loose ball into the net after Scott Dann had failed to clear a free kick.

The hosts almost doubled their advantage when James Henry took a 30-yard free kick, but it was tipped over by Grzegorz Sandomierski.

Blackburn equalised in strange circumstances 10 minutes after half time when David Jones's corner made its way all the way through into the net.

They completed the turnaround with a quarter of an hour on the clock when Grant Hanley went on a 60-yard run before being brought down in the area, with top scorer Jordan Rhodes dispatching the penalty.

It was a heated affair at The Den and Danny Shittu was sent off after the final whistle.

A win for Rovers moves them up to 15th, while Millwall remain just four above the bottom three but do have a game in hand.
