Boro close to Bamford capture?

Middlesbrough are reportedly closing in on the loan signing of Chelsea forward Patrick Bamford.

The 20-year-old scored 22 goals in 44 games across two loan spells with MK Dons and Derby County last season.

Queens Park Rangers, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brentford had reportedly expressed an interest in signing Bamford.

However, Boro manager Aitor Karanka is close to completing the signing of the England Under-21 striker, according to the Northern Echo.

Bamford joined Chelsea from Nottingham Forest in 2012.
