Preview: Middlesbrough vs. Norwich City

Sports Mole previews the Championship clash between Norwich City and Middlesbrough, who both sit in the playoff places in the league.

Middlesbrough could climb to the top of the Championship table with a win over Norwich City in their match at the Riverside Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Aitor Karanka's men have lost just once in their last 10 outings to climb to third place in the table, just two points behind leaders Watford.

Boro maintained their strong recent form with a 3-0 win over Rotherham United at the weekend, with Patrick Bamford scoring his second league goal of the season.

The young striker, who is on loan from Chelsea, is likely to continue up front alongside Kike for this match, with the duo having created a string of chances for Middlesbrough on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Norwich will be hoping to build on their 2-1 win over Bolton Wanderers, which ended a run of five matches without a win for the Canaries.

Despite their recent struggles, Neil Adams's side are still in the playoff places, sitting sixth after their win this weekend, just three points off the top of the table.

There are no fresh injury concerns for Norwich, but Wes Hoolaan, Vadis Ofoe and Ryan Bennett all remain sidelined.

Last season, the two sides played to a draw at the Riverside, while Norwich won the reverse fixture.
