Aitor Karanka named Championship Manager of the Month for January

Middlesbrough manager Aitor Karanka has picked up January's Manager of the Month award in the Championship.

Boro went unbeaten last month to keep their bid for promotion to the Premier League on track.

The Teessiders, who clinched nine points from a possible 12, earned victories over Huddersfield Town, Cardiff City and Brentford.

Leeds United boss Neil Redfearn, Brentford's Mark Warburton and Derby County manager Steve McClaren were also up for the award.

Middlesbrough continue their promotion push on Saturday when Charlton Athletic visit the Riverside Stadium.
