Albert Adomah happy with more responsible Middlesbrough role

Adomah happy with new role

Middlesbrough winger Albert Adomah has described his style of play as "more selfless" this season after taking on more defensive responsibility.

The 27-year-old Ghanaian scored 12 league goals last season, but netted just his fourth of this term and first since October to secure Boro all three points against Bolton Wanderers last night.

Speaking afterwards, he told the Evening Gazette: "I have played in a very different role this season, but it has definitely, definitely developed me as a player.

"I have been working harder, keeping the shape, tackling back, taking responsibility - I'm a better player now.

"I know some supporters want to see me entertain and run at players and unfortunately that hasn't been the case this season. But if the manager wants me to play in a certain role, then I am happy to do it for the team. I think I am more selfless now."

Victory saw Boro maintain their place in the Championship's automatic promotion places with 13 games of the season to go.
