The Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month award for December has been won by Middlesbrough's Adam Clayton.
While the 26-year-old did not get his name on the scoresheet, his performances in midfield were viewed as crucial as Boro collected 13 points from a possible 15 without conceding a goal.
"I'm absolutely thrilled to receive this award. I'm buzzing about it because this is a great league with some very good players," said the former Leeds United and Huddersfield player.
"We didn't concede a league goal in December so, to be honest, any member of our back five could have won this award. It shows how well the whole team are playing and I'd like to think this is an award for all of us."
Uncapped Clayton is a 33-1 shot to be included in the England squad for this summer's European Championships in France.
