Jason Steele believes that Great Britain's men's Olympic football squad should be looking to win gold in London later this month.
The Middlesbrough goalkeeper was selected for the Games by coach Stuart Pearce yesterday afternoon.
While Spain and Brazil are regarded as favourites for the top prize, the 21-year-old feels that there is no reason why Team GB cannot play themselves into contention.
"I think you've got to go into it aiming for the gold medal," he said. "The talent screams out at you when you look down the list of names. Hopefully we can live up to expectations and get gold."
Steele will compete with Birmingham City's Jack Butland to be Pearce's number one goalkeeper.
