Marcelo Bielsa: 'Florian Thauvin is becoming one of the pillars of Marseille'

Marseille coach Marcelo Bielsa has praised the performance of youngster Florian Thauvin following his contribution in the 2-0 victory over Nantes on Friday night.

Highly-rated Thauvin was in fine form for the league leaders as he scored one and assisted another at the Stade Velodrome, with his coach recognising his importance to Marseille so far this season.

"Thauvin put in a very complete performance. He has the right resources and temperament to play at the level he did today, and what he brings to us is very important," said Bielsa, according to the official Ligue 1 website.

"He is a young player who is becoming one of the pillars of the team."

Thauvin has been linked with Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur during the past 12 months.
