Joey Barton could reportedly make his Marseille debut in their Europa League match against Fenerbahce on September 20.
The 30-year-old, who joined the club on loan from Queens Park Rangers in the summer, still has a nine-match domestic ban to serve following his dismissal against Manchester City last season.
However, he is available to take part in European competition – should be prove his fitness before the start of the campaign.
Barton has one England cap to his name.
