Mansfield set up FA Cup tie against Liverpool

Mansfield Town have set up an FA Cup third-round home clash with Liverpool after seeing off Lincoln City 2-1 in round two.

The Stags were gifted a lead on 14 minutes when visiting goalkeeper Paul Farman put through his own net, but the tie was level just before the break.

Former Mansfield winger Adam Smith made it 1-1 in the 41st minute when he got the better of home shot-stopper Alan Marriott with a cheeky lob.

However, Louis Briscoe's late strike was enough to set up a mouthwatering showdown with Brendan Rodgers's Premier League outfit on January 6.
