Louis van Gaal responds to Angel di Maria, David de Gea rumours

Louis van Gaal admits that David de Gea and Angel di Maria could both leave Manchester United before the start of the 2015-16 campaign.

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has admitted that he does not yet know if Angel di Maria and David de Gea will be part of his squad next season.

Speculation has mounted that Paris Saint-Germain will swap striker Edinson Cavani for Di Maria, who endured a mixed first season following a club-record £59.7m move.

Meanwhile, De Gea has been linked with a switch to Real Madrid for much of the transfer window, but recent reports suggest that the move could be delayed until next summer.

"We shall see," the Dutch manager told reporters when asked about Di Maria's future. "In football it's a process.

"It's a process for Di Maria, it's a process for Manchester United. We shall see. I count on him. For now he's a member of Manchester United. He's said to me he shall come here July 25."

Van Gaal added of De Gea: "When you ask me about the attitude of De Gea I think [the question is] stupid.

"I've said that two or three press conferences and you are asking every time the same questions. Maybe you are right, or maybe not, it's dependable of David de Gea.

"Shall he stay? I don't know! Maybe you? Maybe you have spoken with David? He's training here and doing his utmost best."

Di Maria joined the Red Devils from Real Madrid last summer, while De Gea joined from Atletico Madrid in 2011.
