Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde hints that Arturo Vidal - an alleged target for Manchester United - could be allowed to leave Camp Nou in January.

Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde has hinted that Arturo Vidal could be allowed to leave Camp Nou during the January transfer window.

Having remained as a squad player during his opening 18 months at the Catalan giants, Vidal has been linked with an exit at the midway point of the campaign.

Manchester United are said to be monitoring the situation, and Valverde has refused to play down speculation regarding the 32-year-old's future.

At a press conference, Valverde told reporters: "Vidal is our player. We are happy with him. There are so many rumours. When the January transfer window arrives, we will see what happens.

"There's a lot of things going on in January but it's true that we have a lot of midfielders."

While Vidal has made 15 appearances in all competitions this season, just four of those outings have come from the starting lineup.
