Timothy Fosu-Mensah set to sign for Bayer Leverkusen?

Manchester United defender Timothy Fosu-Mensah has reportedly agreed a three-year contract with German outfit Bayer Leverkusen.

The 23-year-old has struggled to break into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side and is now considered surplus to requirements at Old Trafford.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Fosu-Mensah arrived in Germany on Tuesday and will undergo a medical after quarantining ahead of completing a move believed to be worth around £1.8m.

Leverkusen have also been linked with a move for left-back Brandon Williams, but a deal to sign Fosu-Mensah seems more likely this month.

Since joining the Red Devils from Dutch side Ajax in 2014, the Netherlands international has featured on 30 occasions for the club after making his debut as an 18-year-old against Arsenal.

The versatile defender, who has made only three appearances for United during the 2020-21 campaign, has also had spells on loan at Crystal Palace and Fulham.
