Tottenham Hotspur head queue for Coventry City youngster James Maddison?

Tottenham are reportedly leading Liverpool and the Manchester clubs in the race to sign highly-rated Coventry teenager James Maddison, but are yet to make an offer.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly leading several of their Premier League rivals in the race to sign highly-rated Coventry City prospect James Maddison.

The 18-year-old forward only made his senior debut earlier this season and has already caught the attention of some of England's biggest clubs.

He signed a three-and-a-half-year professional contract with the Sky Blues in November, but that will mean little if interest in Maddison is made concrete this month, with City not in a strong financial position.

The Coventry Telegraph claims that the League One club have yet to receive an official approach, but Spurs, Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool are all keeping an eye on the teenager.

Maddison has scored one goal in 12 appearances for Coventry since his August bow.
