Tottenham Hotspur 'confident of Danny Welbeck deal'

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly confident of tying up a season-long loan deal for Manchester United forward Danny Welbeck before the end of the transfer window.

The England international has been widely linked with a move away from Old Trafford as Louis van Gaal looks to assemble the squad in his image with several new faces.

According to The Mirror, the 23-year-old favours a switch to the North London outfit, having been told that he can leave the Red Devils.

Welbeck's representatives are thought to have spoken to a number of clubs, including Arsenal and German side Schalke, but the player wants to remain in the Premier League.
