Report: Sergio Ramos agrees new Real Madrid deal

Sergio Ramos 'agrees new Madrid deal'

Sergio Ramos has agreed a new deal with Real Madrid that will keep him at the club until 2020, according to reports.

The 29-year-old had been heavily linked with a move away from the Bernabeu this summer following reports of a falling-out with club president Florentino Perez.

Manchester United were the team reportedly most interested in the 128-capped Spanish international, but the Red Devils are now understood to have missed out on the defender.

Ramos is yet to put pen to paper on the contract, but a deal has been agreed in principle, with Spanish newspaper Marca describing the negotiations as "closed".

The new contract will reportedly see Ramos's salary go up to €9m (£6.3m) per season and will be signed before the new La Liga campaign gets underway next month.

The agreement could also have an impact on David de Gea's future, with United understood to be unwilling to do a deal for the keeper unless Ramos moves in the opposite direction.
