Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho reportedly wants to keep Ashley Young at Old Trafford for the 2017-18 campaign.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho will reportedly snub all interest in Ashley Young this summer in order to keep the Englishman at Old Trafford for the 2017-18 campaign.

Young was strongly linked with a move away from the Red Devils in the first half of last season, but the 32-year-old's versatility proved key in the latter stages of the campaign.

Stoke City have been linked with a move for the winger, but according to The Sun, Mourinho sees Young, who will be out of contract next summer, as an important squad player, and the Portuguese will refuse to sell in this transfer window.

Young has travelled with the United squad on their pre-season tour of the United States, but the 30-time England international has not featured as he continues to recover from a hamstring problem.

The former Watford youngster has made 164 appearances following a 2011 move from Aston Villa.
