Report: Iker Casillas agrees Madrid exit

Iker Casillas has reportedly reached an agreement to leave Real Madrid this summer.

Since he broke into the senior side at the Bernabeu in 1999, the goalkeeper has gone on to make over 700 appearances for Los Blancos.

During that time, Real have won five La Liga titles, the Champions League three times and the Copa del Rey on two occasions.

However, Madrid's rumoured pursuit of Manchester United keeper David de Gea is said to be nearing a successful conclusion, which in turn is expected to render Casillas surplus to new head coach Rafael Benitez's requirements.

With that in mind, Casillas, 34, has accepted the situation and has decided following conversations with the club that it would be best if he moved on, according to Spanish television station RTVE.

The report adds that De Gea, who has just 12 months left to run on his United contract, could be unveiled by Madrid as early as next week.
