Report: Celtic make late bid for Manchester United's Darren Fletcher

Celtic have reportedly made a late bid to sign Darren Fletcher from Manchester United.

The 31-year-old was close to joining West Ham United last week, but the deal fell through despite the midfielder undergoing a medical in East London.

United manager Louis van Gaal has told the Scotland international that he is free to find another club.

Celtic hope that they can tempt Fletcher to the club with the offer of a loan switch, according to the Daily Star.

It is thought that Fletcher would prefer a short-term deal so that he can decide where his future lies.

West Bromwich Albion are also reportedly interested in signing Fletcher.
