Report: Barcelona, Real Madrid to battle for William Carvalho

A report claims that Real Madrid and Barcelona both want to sign Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho.

Real Madrid and Barcelona will reportedly go head to head for the signing of Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho.

The 21-year-old, who has become a regular in the Sporting team this season following loan spells with Fatima and Cercle Brugge, is widely regarded as one of the best young talents in Europe.

Manchester United have been strongly linked with his services, but it is understood that talks have stalled over Carvalho's asking price of around £37m.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Madrid and Barcelona have now entered the race and are preparing to make an approach either this month or at the end of the season.

Carvalho is also a full Portugal international.
