Real Madrid are reportedly fabricating their interest in signing Borussia Dortmund's Erling Braut Haaland in order to drive up the price for other prospective buyers.
The Norwegian striker is one of the hottest properties on the transfer market at present and, along with Los Blancos, he has been linked with several top clubs in Europe including Barcelona, Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea.
Haaland is understood to be keen to play at the Santiago Bernabeu, but according to Eurosport, the Spanish giants are not pursuing his signature as they are not prepared to meet the extortionate demands from Dortmund and from Haaland's agent Mino Raiola.
Raiola and the 20-year-old's father Alf-Inge Haaland were present in Barcelona last week to discuss a move to Camp Nou.
Madrid also met with Haaland's representatives, however it is understood that Los Blancos are not prepared to fork out £150m, a figure that Dortmund are wanting for the striker.
Haaland has made 32 appearances in all competitions for the German club so far this campaign, scoring a remarkable 33 goals and providing eight assists.
