Raphael Varane 'wants to join Man United over PSG'

Real Madrid centre-back Raphael Varane is reportedly keen to join Manchester United during this summer's transfer window.

The 27-year-old remains an important figure for Los Blancos, but his contract at the Bernabeu is due to expire next June, leading to a host of speculation surrounding his future.

Man United continue to be strongly linked with the France international, while Paris Saint-Germain are said to be long-term admirers of the World Cup winner.

According to AS, Varane already has an offer from the Ligue 1 champions but is keen to play in the Premier League, handing the 20-time English champions a huge advantage in the race for his signature.

The former Lens youngster has scored 17 times in 356 appearances for Madrid, winning a host of trophies at the club, including three La Liga titles and four Champions League crowns.

Man United are believed to view Varane as the ideal long-term centre-back partner for Harry Maguire.
