Manchester United's interim boss Ralf Rangnick has reportedly made contract with Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Braut Haaland's father, amid doubt about the youngster's future.
The 21-year-old has continued to impress in a Borussia Dortmund shirt, scoring 19 goals in 17 appearances across all competitions this season, and he is a target for every top European club that can afford his signature.
Haaland is reportedly going to hold talks with Dortmund, who are keen for him to stay one more season next year and are willing to increase his wages for the cause, but Haaland's release clause which is set at £63.8m is currently due to become active in the summer.
Manchester Evening News reports that Rangnick is pushing to achieve a deal that would see the Norwegian international arrive at Old Trafford, and has spoken to Haaland's father about the possibility of this happening.
The Man United interim manager has built a relationship with Alf-Inge Haaland from when the pair worked together to oversee the youngster's move to Red Bull Salzburg from Molde in 2018.
Haaland continues to put the ball in the back of the net for Dortmund, netting 76 times in 75 appearances for the club since his arrival at Signal Iduna Park three years ago.
