Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot could reportedly perform an unlikely U-turn and stay at the club despite being on the verge of joining Juventus.

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly made a last-ditch attempt to keep Adrien Rabiot at the club beyond the end of his current contract.

Rabiot is set to become a free agent when his deal expires on June 30, and a host of Europe's biggest clubs have been credited with an interest in snapping him up for nothing.

Juventus were thought to be on the verge of beating the likes of Barcelona, Liverpool and Manchester United to the Frenchman's signature, having offered him a five-year deal worth €7m (£6.3m).

However, Football Italia claims that there could be a late twist in negotiations after PSG reappointed sporting director Leonardo, who is reportedly keen to make one final effort to keep Rabiot.

The report goes on to state that Rabiot has asked Juventus for a 'cooling-off period' in order to make his decision as he considers an unlikely U-turn to stay with the French champions.

The 24-year-old has not featured for PSG since December due to his contract row, while off-the-field disciplinary problems have resulted in him being suspended by the club on two occasions already this calendar year.
