Pogba 'told Juve players he wanted return in May'

Paul Pogba allegedly told a number of Juventus players in May that he wished to depart Manchester United.

The midfielder has since revealed that he is keen to take on a new challenge away from Old Trafford, leaving Juventus and Real Madrid to do battle for the 26-year-old's signature.

Recent reports have indicated that Pogba prefers a second spell in Turin, having previously represented the Italian giants for four years between 2012 and 2016.

However, according to reports in Italy, it appears that the World Cup winner's desire to return to Serie A has been known for some time.

Pogba attended the birthday party of Andrea Barzagli in May, where he is said to have expressed a willingness to move on from Man United before the end of the transfer window.

United still wish to keep Pogba in the North-West of England, despite suggestions that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and members of the first-team squad would be happy to see the player leave the club.
