Davide Petrucci terminates Manchester United contract to join Cluj

Midfielder Davide Petrucci terminates his contract with Manchester United in order to move to Romanian side CFR Cluj.

Davide Petrucci has signed a one-year contract with Romanian side CFR Cluj after terminating his deal with Manchester United.

The midfielder still had a season to run at Old Trafford, but decided to leave the club after failing to secure a spot in Louis van Gaal's 25-man Premier League squad.

The 22-year-old has penned an initial one-year agreement with Cluj, with an option for a second season.

Petrucci had loan spells with Charlton Athletic, Peterborough United and Royal Antwerp last season.
