Paris Saint-Germain have announced the arrival of Portuguese left-back Nuno Mendes from Sporting Lisbon on loan with an option to buy.
The 18-year-old enjoyed a stellar breakthrough season in the Primeira Liga last season, claiming one goal and one assist from 29 starts en route to the top-flight title.
Mendes reportedly garnered interest from Manchester City and Manchester United, although PSG were understood to be plotting a late move for the teenager on deadline day.
Late on Tuesday, Mauricio Pochettino's side confirmed the signing of Mendes on an initial loan deal, with Sporting reportedly receiving €7m (£6m) from that part of the agreement.
PSG's option to buy has reportedly been set at €40m (£34.3m), and Mendes joins fellow new arrivals Lionel Messi, Sergio Ramos, Georginio Wijnaldum, Achraf Hakimi and Gianluigi Donnarumma at the Parc des Princes.
The five-cap Portugal international boasts one goal and three assists from 47 games in all competitions for Sporting and is currently with the national team preparing for September's World Cup qualifiers.
