Jose Mourinho 'to make statement signing'

A report claims that Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho wants to make 'a statement signing' at Old Trafford this summer.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly confident of making 'a statement signing' this summer.

The new head coach will officially begin work at Old Trafford next month and has already secured the signature of Eric Bailly from Villarreal ahead of the 2016-17 campaign.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is also expected to arrive on a free transfer, but according to Manchester Evening News, Mourinho is confident of clinching a deal that will send shockwaves across Europe.

Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford, while the Red Devils are also believed to be in the running to sign Alvaro Morata, who has just returned to Real Madrid.

The same report claims that Mourinho wants four new signings this summer.
