New Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag decides to offload both Axel Tuanzebe and Eric Bailly in the upcoming summer transfer window, according to a report.

New Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has decided to offload both Axel Tuanzebe and Eric Bailly this summer, according to a report.

The 52-year-old has begun work at Old Trafford immediately after the conclusion of the 2021-22 campaign, with a major rebuild required throughout the club this summer.

Ten Hag has been running the rule over the current United squad and deciding how many of the current batch he would like to keep as part of his plans, and certain areas that he would like to strengthen.

As a result of his assessment, the former Ajax boss has decided that he would like United to sell Tuanzebe and Bailly, according to Manchester Evening News, with neither set to be part of the Dutchman's plans next season.

Following the arrival of Raphael Varane from Real Madrid last summer, both central defenders were pushed further down the pecking order under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick throughout the campaign, with Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof also featuring more regularly.

Bailly currently has two years left on his contract at Old Trafford, and has gone on to make 113 appearances for the Red Devils since his £29m move from Villarreal back in 2016.

Meanwhile, academy product Tuanzebe has not featured for the club since the 2020-21 Europa League final, and was sent out on loan to Aston Villa for the first half of last season.

After being used sparingly by Villa, United recalled the defender and sent him out on loan to Napoli in January, although the 24-year-old featured just twice for the Serie A outfit during his stay in Naples.
