A host of Europe's biggest clubs, including Manchester United, Liverpool and Manchester City, are reportedly interested in signing Athletic Bilbao winger Inaki Williams.

A host of the Premier League's biggest clubs reportedly remain interested in Athletic Bilbao winger Inaki Williams despite no move materialising during the summer transfer window.

United are understood to have enquired about the possibility of bringing the 25-year-old to Old Trafford towards the closing stages of the window, only for a variety of factors to make the deal a non-starter.

The Red Devils decided that there was not enough time to push through a transfer considering Williams's €88m (£81.2m) release clause, their ongoing talks to sell Romelu Lukaku and sign Mario Mandzukic and Athletic's reluctance to lose Williams.

However, AS reports that there is still a significant level of interest in the one-time Spain international, with United among the clubs still monitoring his situation.

The likes of Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea are also understood to be keeping tabs on the forward, while Inter Milan, Juventus and Bayern Munich have been credited with an interest as well.

The player is contracted to Athletic until 2025 and his release clause increases every six months until then, eventually reaching €108m (£99.6m) unless it is triggered before that.

Williams came through the ranks at Athletic and has gone on to make more than 200 appearances for the senior team, scoring 48 goals.
