Man Utd 'confident of Sancho deal despite Liverpool claims'

Manchester United are reportedly still confident that they will sign Jadon Sancho this summer, despite claims that the Borussia Dortmund star prefers a move to Liverpool.

The 20-year-old is coming off the back of another stellar campaign that has seen him score and assist a combined 33 goals in the Bundesliga.

United have long been considered the favourites to land the Manchester City academy product, but it has been suggested that Premier League rivals Liverpool may now hold the advantage.

However, Sky Sports News reports that United remain increasingly optimistic of persuading Sancho to choose Old Trafford over Anfield.

The Red Devils must also agree terms with Dortmund, who are believed to be seeking €120m (£109m) for the England international.

Dortmund have lined up Lille forward Jonathan Ikone as a replacement for Sancho, with talks said to be well underway between the two clubs.
