Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe reportedly wants to make his loan move to Aston Villa permanent this season.

The 23-year-old has joined the Villans for a third spell on loan, having previously played for the club when they were in the Championship.

According to The Sun, Tuanzebe is settled at Villa and believes he will receive regular first-team football under Dean Smith, something he is unlikely to get at Old Trafford.

The centre-back has seemingly fallen down the pecking order at United, following the arrival of Raphael Varane this summer, while club captain Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly are also in front of him at present.

Tuanzebe progressed through the ranks in the Red Devils academy, starting at the age of eight, before eventually making his senior debut for the club in January 2017.

The defender, who has made 37 first-team appearances for United across all competitions, has started the last two Premier League games for Villa, including last weekend's 3-0 defeat away at Chelsea.
