Manchester United are reportedly likely to wait on making an offer for Leicester City midfielder James Maddison until later in 2020.

Manchester United have reportedly identified Leicester City midfielder James Maddison as a top target for the summer.

With the playmaker continuing to make a significant impression with the Foxes, there has been frequent speculation regarding the England's international's future.

Aware of his value being on an upward trajectory, United have previously been credited with an interest ahead of the January transfer window.

However, according to the Daily Star, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are preparing to make an £80m approach at the end of the season.

The report says that United are confident that they can persuade the 23-year-old to move to Old Trafford rather than pen fresh terms at the King Power Stadium.

Maddison has contributed five goals and three assists from 17 starts in the Premier League this campaign.
