Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is preparing to step up his interest in Nicolas Gaitan this summer, according to talkSPORT.
The Red Devils has been keen on the Benfica winger for the last 12 months and are believed to have made contact with the Portuguese club in January.
However, Benfica were reluctant to do business during the middle of the season.
Ferguson remains confident of luring the 23-year-old to Old Trafford and is said to be hoping to submit an offer in the close season.
Manchester City are also reportedly interested in the Argentinian international.
