Manchester United make progress in Ruben Dias talks?

A report claims that Manchester United have started discussions with Benfica over a deal for Ruben Dias.

Manchester United have made good progress in talks with Benfica for defender Ruben Dias, according to a report.

The Red Devils are said to have upped their interest in the Portugal international after watching him up close in a pre-season friendly.

Dias started 32 league games for Benfica last season and is considered a cheaper alternative to Leicester City centre-back Harry Maguire.

Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manha claims that United are closing in on the 22-year-old after holding an initial round of discussions with the Eagles.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may be forced to bring in a second central defender this summer, meanwhile, as Victor Lindelof has been linked with a move to Barcelona.
