Man United 'line up £50m Calvert-Lewin swoop'

Manchester United have reportedly identified Everton forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin as a potential signing in next summer's transfer window.

The Red Devils have missed out on a deal for Red Bull Salzburg striker Erling Braut Haaland, with the teenager opting to join Borussia Dortmund at the start of January.

As a result, the 20-time English champions will switch their focus in the transfer market, and according to The Sun, Calvert-Lewin has developed into a leading target for the club.

The report claims that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are lining up a £50m swoop for the 22-year-old, who has scored three times in two appearances for the Toffees since Carlo Ancelotti's arrival.

Ancelotti claimed after Saturday's clash with Newcastle United that the Englishman could become one of the leading forwards in European football.

Calvert-Lewin's brace at St James's Park took him onto 10 goals for the season, including eight in 18 Premier League appearances for the Merseyside giants.

The attacker, who started his professional career at Sheffield United, has a contract at Goodison Park until the end of the 2022-23 campaign.
